Dear Friends of Surfing Heritage and Culture Center,
Thank you for being a valued part of the Surfing Heritage and Culture Center. Your safety is our highest priority, and we have been closely monitoring developments of the COVID-19 coronavirus. We understand the concern and uncertainty you may be experiencing, and we are committed to being responsive as the situation evolves.
In order to stay in line with CDC and California Department of Public Health guidelines, Surfing Heritage and Culture Center will temporarily close to the public. We have also canceled all special events scheduled at Surfing Heritage, including our Ukulele Nights with Uncle Lincoln.
We also believe it is in everyone’s best interest to postpone our annual gala at the Aquarium of the Pacific, which was previously scheduled for June 6, 2020. It is our intent that we will be able to gather together in the near future without posing risk to ourselves and others, and we will be sure to keep you apprised of the new date.
This postponement severely hampers our ability to share surfing’s history and culture with you as we come into our 20th Summer, our busiest time of year. Therefore, we are increasing our virtual engagement with you over the coming months through social media, and will share exciting updates on this soon.
Finally, as a nonprofit supported almost wholly by your donations and support, we need and appreciate your help in sustaining us through these uneasy times. Please click here to help https://shacc.org/donate/ or feel free to contact me directly.
Thank you for being a valued part of the Surfing Heritage and Culture Center family.
